Mario van Vliet

Mario has been a member of the Executive Board of Deloitte the Netherlands since 2012 and was responsible for the business units Consulting and Innovation. Mario was appointed Chief Operations Officer in the Executive Board of Deloitte the Netherlands in 2015. He is member of the board of Deloitte North Western Europe and has served as a member of the Deloitte Global Board of Directors.
Mario is a chair professor (special chair in Information Technology Management) at the VU University Amsterdam. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and has more than 25 years experience in Management Consulting, Information & Technology Management, Supply Chain Management.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Mario was employed by Capgemini Consulting (previously Ernst & Young Consulting) as a General Manager. Mario started his career at the Royal Dutch Shell Group in the area of management of IT systems and logistics. He is highly acknowledged with regard to management consulting and has published numerous books and articles. He is a recognized management consultant in industry segments like manufacturing, trade & wholesale, retail and telecommunications. In 2005, Mario van Vliet was appointed in the Top 25 of most influential management consultants in Dutch industry.
In his leisure time, Mario likes to spend quality time with his family. He enjoys reading American en European history and remains active and healthy by running en skiing. Mario can also regularly be found in the gym. Fun fact: Mario recently completed the New York marathon with his daughter.
